Q.Can I unlock
my doors with an SMS?
A.Yes. However you will need to have central locking fitted
in your vehicle.
Q.Are the 3
outputs pulsed or latched?
A.You can configure each output individually. Each output
can be configured as either: Pulse (800ms), latch or cycle.
Pulse is usually used for central locking, whilst latch is
typically used to disable the starter. Please remember to
use relays.
Q.How much
current can the outputs handle?
A.100mA at 12 volts. A common misconception we have found
amongst people installing Carminder is that because the outputs
switch to ground that the amount of current is irrelevant.
This is not the case. No more than 100ma can flow through
the output transistors to ground. This includes the use of
non LED test lamps. In most cases you will need relays. If
unsure of amount of current to be switched It is always best
to err on the side of caution and use relays. Blown output
transistors caused by shorting or excessive currents are not
covered under warranty.
Q.What is the
cycle output type for?
A.When setting an output type to cycle, when enabled that
particular output will have a duty cycle of 1 second on and
1 second off for a period of approximately 30 seconds. This
can be used for flashing lights, horn etc. To extend the cycle
period by another 30 seconds, before the current 30second
cycle has elapsed if you ring carminder whilst the output(s)
is still cycling the 30 second timer will reset for another
30 seconds. You can also end the cycling by sending the appropriate
command.
